TOP 5 WAYS TO COOL DOWN IN CLE THIS SUMMER

Go Swimming

The easiest way to cool down on a hot summer day in Cleveland is to take advantage of one of the many free indoor and outdoor pools throughout the city!

The outdoor pools are open every Wednesday-Sunday from 12 PM to 7:30 PM beginning the second weekend in June. The pools close for the summer on the second weekend of August.

The indoor pools are open Monday-Friday from 12 PM to 7:30 PM year-round. Lifeguards are always on duty during swim hours.

Mitchell’s Ice Cream

Another Cleveland summer staple is Mitchell’s Ice Cream. With ten locations across Northeast Ohio and over thirty flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt, everyone’s sure to find something for them.

Great Lakes Science Center

When the summer heat is beating down, head inside to the Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC)!

The Great Lakes Science Center has a variety of activities to explore, from the general exhibits at the Science Center and NASA Glenn Visitor Center to the Cleveland Clinic DOME theater and the new Steamship William G. Mather.

Check out a daily science demo at 11:15 AM or 2:15 PM with topics ranging from “Bubblemania” to the “CryoBlast Big Science Show”.

Summer day camps are also offered throughout the summer at the GLSC and can accommodate all ages, from Pre-K to high school.

Edgewater Beach

Edgewater Beach is located in the lower part of Edgewater Park and provides 2,400 feet of sandy beaches. Cabanas and kayaks are available for rent along the shoreline and beach volleyball courts are packed during the summer months!

Head over to the Eats and Treats concession stand to grab a scoop of Honey Hut ice cream while experiencing the panoramic views of downtown Cleveland or grab a refreshment at the newly renovated bar with a view of the sunset.

The park is open till dusk every evening throughout the year.

Play: CLE

Sprawling across 25,000 sq. ft, Play: CLE is the largest indoor adventure park in the country. From 6 to 76, kids of all ages can find something suited to them at Play: CLE.
