The hits keep coming for Volkswagen. On Monday November 2nd, the Environmental Protection Agency issued yet another notice of violation to VW, this time covering the company’s high-end sport utility vehicles, including the diesel versions of: the 2014 VW Touareg, the 2015 Porsche Cayenne, and the 2016 Audi A6 Quattro, A7 Quattro, A8, A8L, and Q5. According to the EPA, the automaker installed its “defeat device” on 10,000 such vehicles, permitting it to defeat emission testing despite nitrogen oxide emissions up to nine times in excess of the EPA’s standards.

As we’ve written before, this recent announcement comes on the heels of a September 18 notice of violation by the EPA, which covered Volkswagen’s 2.0L engine vehicles – about 500,000 of which are in the United States.

Volkswagen estimates that it will take at least a year or two to fix the vehicles once the EPA approves its remediation plan. While the company has announced that it has set aside $7.3 billion to fix affected cars, that may not cover the diminution in value and associated damages suffered by these vehicles.

  • I was in a car accident. The insurance company only offered $2,500 to settle my car case. Attorney Allen Tittle took the matter to trial, and after four days, obtained a jury verdict of $75,000 which is 30 times more than what I was offered. He fights for his clients and obtains justice. I would highly recommend him.
  • Allen was professional, conscientious and well organized. Allen's research of my case produced results in which he was able to obtain a copy of a video from the grocery store and subpoenaed a witness that substantiated my claim and proved that I was in fact struck by the vehicle and injured, which he presented in the deposition. This resulted in a successful settlement in my favor
  • What I liked best about Tittle & Perlmuter was the prompt return of phone calls, always knowing when paperwork had been sent, and knowing I could call anytime and get my questions answered.
